For the second straight year, the Lady Husky soccer team had a player break the all-time goal scoring record at Ashe County High School.

Last year, MacKenzie Domske achieved that mark, but her record would not even last a full season as her sister Aspen Domske broke the record last Friday against East Wilkes.

Domske scored goals in the second, third, 18th, 38th and 53rd minutes to help lead Ashe to a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals. Taylor May scored Ashe’s other goal in the 15th minute.

Domske scored her 86th goal in the contest, good enough to pass her sister’s record.

On Tuesday, the single season record continued to climb, moving to within 10 goals of reaching the 100-goal mark.

Ashe played Alleghany and decisively outclassed the visiting team, beating the Trojans by a 9-0 score.

Alexis Parks started the scoring in the fourth minute with a goal. Mac Church made it 2-0 with a goal in the 12th minute.

After that, Domske scored four straight goals in nine minutes from the 17th minute to the 26th minute to put Ashe in front 6-0.

The Lady Huskies nearly reached the mercy rule in the first half when May blasted her second goal in as many games in the 31st minute and Bridgette Wilson added a score in the 35th minute to take an 8-0 lead at the half.

Domske put the final tally on the scoreboard in the 48th minute with her fifth goal of the game and 91st of her career.

Ashe’s record now sits at 10-2-1 overall and 10-2 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.

An N.C. Senate bill would prohibit direct marketing to N.C. motorists by Tesla and companies like it. Is this a sound policy?
