Guilford College dropped a pair of conference games last week. The Quakers lost to Lynchburg, 86-66 at home, then traveled to Hampden-Sydney where the team was handed a 76-52 loss.
Freshman Zeb Richardson had a tough game against Lynchburg, fouling out after 21 minutes on the court. The former Husky still ended up with six points, eight rebounds, two steals and a block.
Josh Pittman led all Quaker scorers with 25 points.
Manny Hernandez scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Lynchburg.
Guilford traveled to Hampden-Sydney for another conference showdown, but once again, came away with a tough loss.
Richardson played 26 minutes and scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds. Pittman was once again the high man for the Quakers with 24 points.
In both defeats, the Quakers simply struggled to shoot the ball. Against Lynchburg, Guilford shot just 37-percent before following that up with a 34-percent shooting performance at Hampden-Sydney.
With those two defeats, Guilford College now sits at 14-5 overall and 6-4 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Guilford wraps up the month of January with a road game at Roanoke on Wednesday. After that, the team has just five regular season games remaining. With three of those five coming at home, Guilford will hope to continue its hot play at home. The Quakers have lost at home just one time this season.
