The following are collision reports posted by the N.C. Highway Patrol in Ashe County and are considered public record.Aug. 18Highway 221A two-car accident took place at 10:59 a.m. on Highway 221 near West Jefferson. According to the narrative, a vehicle driven by Ronnie Moore of North Wilkesboro made an illegal left turn out of the Lowes Hardware parking lot onto Highway 221. Moore’s vehicle then crossed the center line and hit a vehicle head-on, driven by Patricia Fairchild of Deep Gap.Moore’s 1997 Dodge suffered approximately $3,000 in damages and was considered not driveable. Fairchild’s 2006 Jeep suffered approximately $3,000 in damages and was considered not driveable.
