RONDA — Lady Husky senior Melissa Ramos scored her 100th career goal, helping the Lady Huskies rally to defeat East Wilkes on Thursday evening.
East Wilkes held a 2-1 lead at the half before Ashe scored twice in the second half to get the win.
The Lady Huskies took a 1-0 lead early in the contest with a goal from Sam Woods.
The Cardinals answered back with two quick goals to take their first lead of the contest. Ciara Pierce scored first and them Sheila Aguilar netted the second goal to go up 2-1.
Ramos put the team on her shoulders in the second half, scoring early in the half to tie the match.
With 28 minutes left to play, Ramos scored the go-ahead goal for a 3-2 lead.
After that, the Ashe defense was able to preserve the lead and get a much-needed win after Tuesday’s heartbreak against Wilkes Central.
Ashe is 8-5 overall and 7-2 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.
The Lady Huskies will take the week off for spring break before returning to action on Monday, April 24 at home against Starmount.
