Seventh grade volleyball remains unbeaten
WARRENSVILLE — The seventh grade Lady Bulldogs have been a real bright spot for the Ashe County Middle School athletic teams this fall. The volleyball team currently sits at 8-0 after the team’s most recent victory over East Wilkes on Thursday.
The season began on Sept. 7 with a road victory over Alleghany. The team then followed that up with home wins over Starmount and West Wilkes and road victories over North Wilkes and Forbush.
The month of September ended with the team’s second win of the season over Alleghany and the second win of the year over North Wilkes.
Ashe has four matches left in the regular season standing in the way of a perfect season for the Lady Bulldogs. The team heads to West Wilkes on Monday before returning home for matches against Elkin (Oct. 12) and Central Wilkes (Oct. 16). The final match of the regular season will be at Central Wilkes on Oct. 23.
