The Town of Lansing and the High Country Council of Governments are seeking input as part of the development of the Lansing Pedestrian Planning process.

The public’s assistance is needed to prepare a vision to improve the pedestrian environment in the Town of Lansing. The goal of the Pedestrian Transportation Plan is to determine how to enhance the pedestrian environment in Lansing. The plan will examine potential sidewalk and trail locations, as well as ways to improve pedestrian safety. It will focus on how to make connections to key pedestrian traffic generators in and around downtown Lansing.

Pedestrian surveys and drop boxes are available at Lansing Town Hall and at the Lansing Post Office. Surveys can be downloaded online at www.regiond.org/rpo3.html. You may submit the survey by email at chughes@regiond.org or by mailing the survey to:

Craig Hughes, Transportation Planner

High Country Council of Governments

468 New Market Blvd

Boone, NC 28607

Please submit all comments by Nov. 12.

After reviewing public surveys, hosting public workshops, and studying the existing pedestrian conditions, a Pedestrian Plan for the Town of Lansing will be developed and considered by the town.
