Puppet Festival returns to Todd

The eagerly anticipated third Elkland International Puppet Festival will be held on Sept. 13 at the Todd Mercantile in beautiful downtown Todd. Shows will take place from 1:00 n 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 n 9:00 p.m.

Admission for the day is $5 for anyone over 12; for those 12 and under, admission is 1 pretty button.

The afternoon shows include The Gnome Story, a one-man production by Robin Stevens of Asheville (formerly of Birmingham, England), Jason’s Dream, an Elkland Art Center show about recycling, and The Big Dipper, a celebration of one of humankind’s favorite constellations, produced and performed by Red Herring Puppets of Asheville.

In the evening, the festival continues with a collection of cabaret-style shows for the more mature children among us. The evening schedule is not final, but will also feature an
