Baby Bucky may be hard to beat.

Rai Herring’s close-up of the tiny white kitten is likely to turn many hearts among the participants in the jeffersonpost.com Cutest Pet Contest.

The images of Baby Bucky and a growing number of pets can be seen on-line at the Jefferson Post Web site. Anyone can enter a favorite pet and leave a note about the animal’s nature, what it means to the owner, how they were found.

Herring told a bit of the story of bringing her white kitten home.

After two weeks of submissions of pets in the contest, voting begins on the cutest, Feb. 7.

Unconfirmed reports are that Daisy and Gracie (she’s a real princess and may spell her name with an ‘i’), Maggie and Suzy are going to enter the race for cutest. Bentley and Aspen are also likely contenders.

“We are excited about the fun that will develop around this contest,” said Jefferson Post General Manager Lonnie Adamson. “It is an opportunity for the community to have a little fun with friends and neighbors, showing off their pets. It is also an opportunity for us to focus on the importance of our animal friends and the needs of homeless pets. Our contest sponsors, Parker Tie, FerrellGas and Windancer Kennels have some great prizes to share with winners in the contest. It seems clear that Baby Bucky is going to be hard to beat.”

So logon to jeffersonpost.com look down a bit and click on “Cutest Pet Contest.” Inside that site, create a log-in identity and then click on submission to share your pet with the world.
