On Monday evening, the Huskies’ soccer team hosted the North Wilkes Vikings in a special night for the Huskies as they recognized the senior members of the varsity squad along with the members of the Ashe Youth Soccer League and the Ashe County Middle School soccer teams. The Huskies were hoping to give the crowd a good game with an upset of the Vikings, but North Wilkes scored early in the game and extended their lead as the game progressed to claim the 5-1 victory.
Ashe’s lone goal came during the 54-minute when that Zach Holman drew a foul in the penalty box. Ashe was awarded with a penalty kick and Chase Smith was the chosen kick taker. Smith has drawn the nickname of
