Blye S. Blevins, age 84, of Whitetop, Va., passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at her residence.
She was the widow of Roy Blevins.
She was born Jan. 17, 1923, at Anawalt, W.Va., to Luther and Chloe Mae Greer Blevins.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessie Blevins of Lansing, N.C., and Lucy B. Dollar of West Jefferson, N.C.; a son, R.A. Blevins of the home; three sisters, Madeline Richardson of Jeffersonville, Ind., Lena Walcott of Redding, Calif., and Betty Wright of Perryville, Md.; a brother, James Stamper of San Jose, Calif.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Helton Valley Baptist Church, Whitetop, Va., with interment in Walls Cemetery. Rev. Ken Clark and Rev. Larry Shepherd officiated.
The family received friends at the church Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m.
Arrangements were by Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home of Independence, Va.
