Mrs. Lucy Ray Eller, age 84, of West Jefferson, died Monday morning, December 17, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Jorene Prutte, Rev. Michael Carter and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Kemp-Lewis Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2007 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eller was born in Ashe County on Saturday, April 14, 1923 to the late Clinton Sturgill and the late Delphia Maggie Lena Black Sturgill. She was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Field Eller; her twin sister, Bessie Wayne, two sisters, Grace Young, Gray Miller; two brothers, Lillard Sturgill and Carl Sturgill.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas Eller and wife, Kathy, of West Jefferson, Walter F. Eller and wife Rita, of Fletcher, NC and Terry Eller and wife, Brenda, of Mouth of Wilson, VA; three daughters, Sandra Lambert and husband, Keith, of Mississippi, Sharon Barker and her husband, Lee, of Jefferson and Jorene Prutte and husband, Jerry, of Vale, NC; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
