On behalf of Warrensville Baptist Church and Tiffany’s family, I’d like to thank each person, business, church, and organization that helped with the Tiffany Fund. Your generosity exceeded all of our expectations; the number of caring folks that came to the supper and the auction was unbelievable. Not even the worst weather that we had had in weeks slowed down that supper line. One helper from our church remarked that she now knew how Jesus felt when trying to feed the five thousand.
Special thanks to Russell Killen for donating his time to conduct the auction, to Ashe County Middle School staff who worked all day Saturday and into Saturday night to help us with the set-up, the cooking, and clean-up, and to each person who donated their time to help with this fundraiser. Special thanks also to the Jefferson Post and WKSK for helping to get the word out about our event. I would like to name each person individually that helped in some way, but that would probably take up this entire edition of the Post. The Tiffany Fund has truly been a whole community effort.
What has touched me the most about this whole fundraising process has been the outpouring of love in your cards, your calls, your prayers, and your concerns for Tiffany and her family. As Jeff Jones put it, “I’m glad we live where we do. We would not have had this kind of support and love anywhere else.” The Jones family still has some hard times ahead, so please continue to remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, Ashe County.
