This Saturday, Aug. 2, the 38th Annual Old Time Music & Fiddler’s Convention hosted by the Jeffersons Rotary Club kicks off with gates opening at 2 p.m. at Ashe County Park. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate.

Youth competition begins at 4 p.m. followed by the individual and band competitions, so come out and enjoy the music of the mountains with an array of local and regional musicians. Bring your lawn chair or quilt and an appetite for the fresh-cooked hamburgers and hotdogs prepared by Rotarians.

As immediate past president and organizer of this year’s Fiddler’s Convention, Billy Smith invites you to help support this scholarship program that has provided more than a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships to the graduating high school seniors in Ashe County over the years.
