Ashe County Health Department has had six reported cases of food borne illness, and of those, two cases of salmonella have been confirmed at this time, according to a health department news release.
Currently, an investigation is underway to determine the subtype/species of salmonella to guide the work of the Appalachian District Epidemiology Team in determining the exact cause of this food borne illness.
