Salmonela poisoning cases confirmed in Ashe

Ashe County Health Department has had six reported cases of food borne illness, and of those, two cases of salmonella have been confirmed at this time, according to a health department news release.
Currently, an investigation is underway to determine the subtype/species of salmonella to guide the work of the Appalachian District Epidemiology Team in determining the exact cause of this food borne illness.
Individuals are advised to report to their healthcare provider if they are sick, the news release said. Some points to remember include:
