Bobbie Wilson Lloyd, age 79, of Vinton, VA, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Carrington Place in Daleville, VA.

Mrs. Lloyd was born July 17, 1929 in West Jefferson to the late Glen H. and Hattie McNeil Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Wilson; a son, Robert Wilson; a brother, Von Turner; and two sisters, Pauline Turner and Lou Jane Brooks.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 12, at 3 p.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson by the Reverend Nathan Eggers and the Reverend Glenn Woodie. Burial followed in the McNeil Cemetery in Lansing.

The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn. The family also received friends after 3 p.m. on Saturday at the home of Joe Turner, 1251 Hwy. 194 N., West Jefferson, NC.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by: one daughter, Della Swartz and husband, Chuck, of Roanoke, VA; three brothers, Joe Turner of West Jefferson, R.G. Turner of Morganton, and Donald Turner of Lansing; one sister, Lessie Elliott of West Jefferson; one grandson, Robert Wilson and wife, Melissa, of Bedford, VA; two great-grandchildren, Sean and Chance; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
