Foxx misleading supporters

To the editor:

I feel I could safely say that three-fourths of their radio/TV ads and newspaper articles by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx are misleading.

One example is the article on Americans for Prosperity, which made it look as if she had really done something for us, when all the time, she was supporting big oil companies.

Below are a few example. Read more at Americans for Prosperity.org.

H.R. 2776 would raise the corporate income tax on oil companies. Foxx voted “No.”

H.R. 5351 would have increased taxes on oil and gas companies. Foxx voted “No.”

H.R. 6346 included prohibiting price gouging. Foxx voted “No.”

Now ask yourself. If Congresswoman Foxx is working for us or for the big guys. Anything can be worded to sound good (which she is a pro at) but facts do not lie. Profits for the five largest oil companies have quadrupled since 2002 and the record shows that Congresswoman Foxx has done her part to help increase these obscene profits by voting this way.

Each “No” vote benefits the oil and gas companies while we pay these ridiculous prices at the pumps, not to mention heating oil for our homes. The radio and TV ads that she is running are just as misleading.

The mailings we have been receiving are more of the same. We the taxpayers are paying for this and she claims to be such a watchdog for our money. Give me a break.

We need someone who will not mislead us. That is why I am going to vote for Roy Carter for Congress and ask my friends and supporters to do the same. We need a change and we need it now.

Roy Carter does not have thousands of dollars to spend (as does Virginia Foxx) but I know he would never be owned by big oil. He will be a champion for the working people of District 5.
