About 50 people attended the candlelighting ceremony at Ashe County Courthouse Sunday to highlight suicide and depression issues. The attendees, mostly family and friends of suicide victims, told stories of their loved ones. The event was sponsored by Ashe Suicide/Depression Awareness Prevention in conjunction with Sunshine Sunday. The chorus from Ashe County High School sang for the group.
