Geneva DeBord, age 62, of Grassy Creek, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial followed in the DeBord Family Cemetery.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, one hour prior to the funeral service at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. DeBord was born in Ashe County on Feb. 14, 1946 to the late Herbert and Lessie Blevins Hash. She was a member of the Little Helton Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hash, and one sister, Betty Hurley.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Glenn DeBord of the home; two daughters, Anissa Day and husband, Steve, of Grassy Creek, Catina DeBord of Vilas; three brothers, Bill Hash and wife, Rose, of Grassy Creek, Ed Hash and wife, Joann, of Jefferson, Ernie Hash and wife, Louise, of Jefferson; three sisters, Bonnie Absher of Troutdale, VA, Audrey Johnson of Ennice, Barbara Hash of Mouth of Wilson, VA; three grandchildren, Beverly, Allison and Tabitha Day, all of Grassy Creek; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Little Helton Baptist Church Building Fund, in c/o Judy Poe at 277 Mulatto Mountain Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
