James Edward (Ed) Dolinger, age 69, of Independence, Va., passed away May 4, 2011 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital, Sparta.

He was born May 9, 1941 in Jefferson to the late Bynum Franklin and Dora Little Dolinger.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita Walls Dolinger of the home; son and spouse, Robbie and Monica Dolinger of Baywood, Va.; two daughters, Kathy Greene of Fleetwood and Sherry McLelland of Deep Gap; two stepsons and spouse, Douglas Blevins of Baywood, Va., and Randy and Crystal Blevins of Whitetop, Va.; stepdaughter, Sandra Carpenter of Jefferson;sister and spouse, Evelyn and Eddie Vannoy of Jefferson; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at the Nella Community Cemetery, Lansing, with Elder Dean Shepherd and the Rev. Wayne Roark officiating.
