On Monday morning, downtown West Jefferson will welcome three giant Holstein cows to town.

The holding tanks across from the Ashe County Cheese store will be adorned with three steel cow's heads.

The project is a partnership between Ashe County Cheese, Stephen Willingham at the Artist's Theater, and Rusty Roger's welding two class at Ashe County High School.

The heads and tanks will be painted white with black spots, in a color scheme designed to match a Holstein cow.

Check back with the Jefferson Post Monday for updates as the welding progresses.
