Ashe County Middle School pool opened to the public this week with opportunities for a refreshing dip in this beautifully renovated facility.

Located at the middle school in Warrensville, this indoor pool is available to the public Monday through Friday from 7-9:30 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Cost is $4 for adults, $3.50 for students ages 7-16, $1 for non-swimmers, and free for children under 6 years old with a paying adult. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Season passes are $50 for an individual, $125 for a family up to four and $25 for each additional child.

Swimming lessons are also available at the pool. Lessons are scheduled June 13-24, June 27-July 8, July 11-22 and July 25-Aug. 5, one hour each day for two weeks for the following levels:

Tiny Tots (birth to 3 years of age): 6-7 p.m.

Beginning Level I: 11 a.m. to noon and 5-6 p.m.

Beginning Level II: 12-1 p.m. and 4-5 p.m.

Cost for the lessons is $60 per session, $40 for an additional child, and $10 discount for season pass holder.

The pool may be rented at selected times for private event bookings in two hour blocks. Rental fee is $60 plus a $2 fee per swimmer.
