For the Ashe County Relay for Life, support is coming in all shapes and sizes.

With tail-wagging approval, the Villages of Ashe will host its Second Annual Fun Dog Show at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 to help raise awareness and benefit Relay for Life.

The Villages of Ashe, an assisted living community located in West Jefferson, has had a team supporting Ashe County’s Relay for Life for three years. “We all know, or know of someone, that has been affected by cancer,” Executive Director Melissa Deskins said. “We feel that our Relay team is our way of giving back to this community and to the cause that has touched so many.”

Last year The Villages of Ashe hosted the inaugural Fun Dog Show. With vendors ranging from local pet boutiques to invisible fencing installers, the show was a great success. Over 75 participants helped to raise money and awareness of everything that Relay for Life represents and supports.
