Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lyalls and Elder Kenneth Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Goss-Stansberry Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Mullis was born in Union County on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1931 to the late Aris and Lessie Laney Kiser. She worked in a textile company. She enjoyed working in her flowers, her garden and canning the goods that she had produced. She also had a great love for animals.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lafayette Mullis, on Feb. 8, 1995, and a daughter, Norma Mullis Allen, on March 13, 1994.
She is survived by a son, Roy L. Mullis and wife, Denise, of Boone; a daughter, Phyllis Chafin and husband, Bill, of Waxhaw; a sister, Joy Helms of Monroe; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerousl nieces and nephews.
