Football continues to get closer and closer in the High Country as Appalachian State University announced the official game times for its 2011 football schedule.
The Mountaineers have six regular season home games at Kidd-Brewer Stadium, including another night game at The Rock. Four of the six home games will kickoff in the usual 3:30 p.m. time slot. App State’s home game against Savannah State on September 17 will kickoff at 6 p.m. while the rivalry matchup against Georgia Southern will begin at 3 p.m. as part of the annual “Black Saturday” celebration.
ASU will be televised at least three times this season as part of the Southern Conference Game of the Week. The Mountaineers will be televised on October 1 on the road against the Wofford Terriers, Oct. 29 against Georgia Southern and again on November 19 at Elon.
App State opens the season on the road Sept. 3 at Virginia Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. After that, the Mountaineers have three straight home games on Sept. 10, 17 and 24. App hosts North Carolina A&T, Savannah State, and Chattanooga during that three-game stretch.
Following that stretch of home games, the Mountaineers will play on the road at Wofford, then have a week off before another road game at The Citadel on Oct. 15.
Homecoming festivities are scheduled for Oct. 22 as ASU takes on Samford. App State finishes the season with two home games and two road games. The matchup with Georgia Southern closes out the month of October before heading to Furman on Nov. 5 and closing out the regular season with a home game against rival Western Carolina on Nov. 12 and the final game at Elon Nov. 19.
