Superior court docket set for Sept. 6

On Sept 6, Criminal Superior Court will be held at the Ashe County Courthouse. Notable cases include:

Ray Dean Combs of West Jefferson arrested in May 2010 and charged with five counts of first degree rape of a child under the age of 13 - who authorities say is the daughter of a woman that he was dating - and three counts of sexual offense.

Joseph A. Boccardy of Creston charged in 2010 with maintaining a vehicle and dwelling place for keeping and selling marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, processing with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and felony possession, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Larry Dean Hollifield of Silas Creek was charged in July 2010 with three counts of statutory rape and sex offense of a child as well as three counts of indecent liberties with a child under the age of 13, four counts of statutory sex offense by and adult and indecent liberties with a child, and three counts of felony child abuse sexual act.

Alvious Fred “Jack” Church of West Jefferson charged with murder in February 2004 after law enforcement officers found his wife, Pauline Blevins Church, 66, shot to death in the Church residence. Sheriff James Williams said Church, age 65 at the time, has been incarcerated in a mental hospital since the crime, and every year since has appeared in court and been determined to be a danger to society and incompetent to stand trial.

Gilbert Tony Bare-Charged with three counts of trafficking, opium or heroin, and one count of habitual felon.

Jesse Earl Bledsoe-Charged with driving while impaired, and failure to comply with license restrictions.

Jody Chad Blevins-Charged with H/I felony probation violation.

David Alan Carpenter-Charged with habitual impaired driving and driving with license revoked.

Rony Alan Cherry-Charged with 13 counts of trafficking, opium or heroin, two counts of sell/deliver schedule three controlled substance, and pwismd schedule three controlled substance.

Dennis Duane Combs-Charged with two counts of conspiring to sell/deliver heroin, two counts of conspiring to sell/deliver cocaine, and probation violation.

Anthony Shane Dishman-Charged with operating a vehicle with no insurance, driving with license revoked, driving while impaired, and speeding.

Eddie Russell Greer-Charged with pwismd schedule three controlled substance, pwismd shedule four controlled substance, possession of marijuna between 1/2 and 1 1/2 ounce, simple possession of a schedule four controlled substance, poss/sell non tax paid alcoholic beverage.

Christopher Glen Hall-Charged with larceny from the person.

Johnathon Reid Johnson-Charged with driving while impaired.

Teddy Pete Lowe-Charged with failure to report change of address.

Kevin Grant Miller-Charged with interfering with emergency communications, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana between 1/2 and 1 1/2 ounces, simple possession of a schedule four controlled substance.

Freddie Lee Moxley-Charged with habitual impaired driving.

Jeffery Way Pennington-Charged with four counts of probation violation, and three counts of felony probation violation out of county.

Melissa Dawn Rash-Charged with misdemeanor probation violation, two counts of driving with license revoked, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Charles Dillon Seagle-Charged with H/I felony probation violation.

Randall Glen Stout-Charged with two counts of felony probation violation out of county.

Jared Allen Turnmire-Charged with H/I felony probation violation.

Chad Stephen Weddle-Charged with breaking and or entering, and felony larceny.
