Chester Burdette Workman, better known as “Bud”, passed away at his home on Aug. 23, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 72 years old. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Earlene Smith Workman; his parents, Chester and Emma of Point Pleasant, W. Va.; four sons, Tim and wife, Susan, of Indian Trail, N.C., David and wife, Peggy, Stephen and wife, Laura, all of Monroe, N.C., and Mark and wife, Penny, of Lansing. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The family received friends Thursday, Aug. 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel. Services in celebration of his life were held Thursday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel. Interment followed the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
