Ashe scored its first goal just eight minutes into the match when Tyler Keagy powered a shot into the left corner of the net to set an early tone for the Huskies.
Just two minutes later, the Huskies were on the scoreboard again with a goal from junior midfielder Lucas Zeller to make it 2-0 Ashe.
The Huskies would add one more goal in the first half on a beautiful crossing pass from Miguel Ramos to sophomore Frank Ledezma. Ledezma connected on his header attempt to score his first goal of the evening in the 35th minute. Ashe took a 3-0 lead to the halftime break.
Ashe came out on fire again in the second half. Ledezma added his second goal of the contest, powering a kick pass the Blackhawks goalie in the 43rd minute of action. Just four minutes later, the Huskies tallied its fifth and final goal of the night when Ramos blasted his shot into the back of the net.
The score could have been even more lopsided since Ashe was awarded two penalty kicks during the second half, but could not get either of them by the West Wilkes keeper, including the second shot taken by Honor Rognstad that rifled off the crossbar high into the air.
Ashe remains undefeated in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference and have just two losses overall this season with both of them coming to Watauga. The Huskies will be on the road for two of its three matches this week. Ashe traveled to North Wilkes on Monday night to make up for a match that was postponed last week due to the weather. Ashe will be at Starmount on Wednesday night before wrapping up the week with a home match against Alleghany on Thursday.
