Ashe put up good performances against Elkin, beating the Lady Elks 3-1, and against North Wilkes picking up the 3-0 sweep as part of the team’s 3-1 record to start MVAC play.
Conference front-runner Alleghany remained undefeated on the season when they defeated Ashe 3-0 last Thursday. The Lady Huskies fell to Wilkes Central on Tuesday with an identical 3-0 defeat, putting the team’s conference record at 3-3 while they sit at 4-7 overall.
Next week, the Lady Huskies will be on the road for a non-conference tilt with Alexander Central on Monday before wrapping up the first half of MVAC play with another road game at East Wilkes on Tuesday.
