The Elks feature arguably the best runner in the conference in Zach Milsaps, but it would be the Huskies as a team that would earn the victory. Milsaps won the men’s meet in 17 minutes, 24 seconds. Ashe runner Glenn Bailey was not far behind however, finishing in 17:53, good enough for second place overall. Josh Rees-Jones finished in fourth with a time of 18:53 while Mitch Rees-Jones captured sixth in 19:21. The final two Husky runners that scored points for Ashe were Jonathan Nichols in 10th (20:08) and T.J. Trivette in 13th (21:02)

The Huskies also captured first place in the women’s meet by putting five runners in the top 11 spots. Laney Browder of Wilkes Central took first place overall in a time of 20:38. Mac Church was the highest finishing team member from Ashe, capturing fourth place in 22:47. Lynde Ring was fifth with a time of 23:12. Chrissy Simmons captured seventh place in 23:43 while Vic Reed (23:55) and Chelsea Eller (24:45) each finished ninths and 11th.
