Mrs. Elsie Greer Eldreth, age 85, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Ashe County, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 3, 2011, at Complex Care Hospital at Ridgelake, Sarasota, Fla.

Elsie was born on Monday, June 28, 1926 to the late Smith Greer and Fannie Blanche Miller.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Eldreth; one son, Eddie Lee Eldreth; and two daughters, Phyllis Belyeu and Dianne Eldreth.

Mrs. Eldreth is survived by two daughters, Carol Daniel of Bradenton, Fla., and Elizabeth Holman of West Jefferson; one brother, Vane Greer of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Lessie Perry of Delray, W. Va., and Elnora Greenland of Churchville, Md.; three grandchildren, Jamie Daniel, Michael Eldreth, and Mitchell Eldreth; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Eldreth, Jadon Eldreth, and Keilani Eldreth; and one daughter-in-law, Ginny Eldreth.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Leashomb and Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial followed in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at Boone Family Funeral Home.
