Danny E. and Ronda Lawrence of Jefferson announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Maria Lawrence of Jefferson to Todd Wesley Young of Grassy Creek.
The future bride is the grandaughter of Randy and Betty Owen of Crumpler and the late Daniel and Erleen Lawrence of Crumpler.
The future groom is the son of Jimmie and Linda Young of Grassy Creek. He is the grandson of Margaret Young and the late Bassett Young as well as Topsie Halsey and the late Armond Halsey.
The future bride graduated from Ashe County High School in 2005. She then attended and graduated from Wilkes Community College in 2008. Upon graduation she transferred to Appalachian State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. Megan is employed by Ashe County Schools as an Exceptional Children’s teacher at Mountain View Elementary serving grades kindergarten through second grade.
The future groom graduated from Ashe County High School in 2000 and attended and graduated from Wilkes Community College in 2003 with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering. Todd is employed at Skyline Telephone Membership Cooperation as a Field Technician.
They are planning a fall wedding at Grayson Highlands National Park, Va.
Together they will reside in Grassy Creek.
