Ashe County Airport air show
It was a beautiful day Saturday for the second annual air show at Ashe County Airport, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. Several hundred people enjoyed acrobatic stunts by pilots Johnny White and Roger Marshall, parachute drops by a number of brave individuals, a comedy act involving the “attempted theft” of airplanes, and a display of antique and show vehicles as well as food and information from a number of vendors. For his second round of acrobatic flying, Johnny White hooked up a special speaker in the plane so he could tell the audience on the ground what he was doing at each point in the show.
