Paula Lee Badger Houck

Mrs. Paula Lee Badger Houck of West Jefferson died on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was 79.

Mrs. Houck was born on Aug. 12, 1932 in Beckley, W.Va. Mrs. Houck was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Dickson Houck, Jr.

Mrs. Houck was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to crochet.

Special thanks to Ashe Memorial Hospital staff for the wonderful and caring attention they gave to her.

Mrs. Houck is survived by two sons, Chris Houck and wife, Angie, of Laurel Springs, and Mark Houck and wife, Lori, of Port Orchard, Wash.; one sister, Kaye Bowen and husband, Roger, of Medina, Ohio; one grandson, Jake Houck, and one granddaughter, Brittany Houck; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Lewis; cousin, Betty Gaye Hollbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Beaver Creek Christian Church by Pastor Jim Dawes and the Rev. Michael Carter. Burial followed in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
