Robert Bill Hamm

Mr. Robert Bill Hamm of Creston, passed away Saturday morning, May 9, 2012 at Watauga Medical Center. He was 75.

Mr. Hamm was born in Ashe County on March 3, 1937 to the late Elzie Ham and Dorothy Paris Calhoun. He was a member of Iron Heritage Tractor Club Member and won two trophies. He loved going to car auctions and raising pigeons.

He is survived by his wife, Marietta Hamm of 55 years; one son, Bobby Hamm of Creston; one daughter, Shirley Miller of Lansing; a grandmother, Lottie Calhoun of Jefferson; stepmother, Hazel Ham of Elkton, Md.; two brothers, Herbert Lewis of Lansing, and EJ Ham of South Carolina; four sisters, Brenda Miller of Warrensville, Betty Dougherty of Creston, Emma Jean Ham of Lansing, and Geraldine McNeill of Lansing; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery in Big Springs.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at Boone Family.
