Ralph Gerald Bare

Mr. Ralph Gerald Bare of Laurel Springs passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. He was 76.

Mr. Bare was born in Ashe County on Oct. 16, 1935 to Hazel Stringer Bare and the late Clarence Fields Bare. He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Edith McNeill Bare of Laurel Springs; one son, Scott Bare and wife, Shana, of Creedmoor; mother, Hazel Bare of Laurel Springs; one sister, Kay Perkins and husband, John, of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Justin Bare and Alex Bare of Creedmoor; two nieces and four nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 11, at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Goss and David VanHoy officiating. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.

The Bare family received friends from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
