Wesley Elder Laasch

Mr. Wesley Elder Laasch of Lansing died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Forsyth Medical Center. He was 79.

Mr. Laasch was born Dec. 18, 1932 in Jacksonville, Fla., to Alfred Mearl and Doris Estes Laasch. Mr. Laasch was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Laasch was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a ham radio operator, he loved to fly model airplanes, hunt and fish.

Mr. Laasch is survived by: his wife, Lois Christine Thompson Laasch; three daughters, Christine Gale Stuart of Lansing, Gwenn Ackers of Asheville, and Cindy Laasch of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; one sister, Janice Beloff of Lake Helen, Fla.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Sheets.
