Ona Ellen Caldwell

Mrs. Ona Ellen Caldwell of Crumpler died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. She was 94.

Mrs. Caldwell was born July 28, 1917 in Ashe County to Mont and Effie Jenkins Darnell. Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Caldwell, and brothers, Joe, Harold and Hugh Darnell.

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by one brother, John Darnell of Winston Salem; three sisters, Rebecca Parks of Walnut Cove, Magdalene Miller of Norfolk, Va., and Juanita Church of Piney Creek; one sister- in-law, Lenoir Darnell of Winston Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Danny Smith and the Rev. Reeves Jones. Burial will follow in Roans Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Badger Funeral Home.
