Dorris Ann Denny Shupe

Mrs. Dorris Ann Denny Shupe, better known as “Dot”, of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at her residence. She was 62.

Mrs. Shupe was born in Ashe County on Friday, June 2, 1950 to the late Dolphus Grady Denny and Ruby Greer Denny. She was owner of Main Street Discount in Lansing. She also served as a town alderman.

She was also preceded in by her husband, Joe Mack Shupe, on July 23, 1994.

Mrs. Shupe is survived by one son, David Shupe and wife, Jennifer, of Greer, S.C.; mother, Ruby Denny of Lansing; four brothers, Doyle Denny of Lansing, Larry Denny of Lansing, Jim Denny of Knoxville, Tenn., and Gary Denny of Greenville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Caitlin Shupe and Grady Shupe; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, at Boone Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial followed in the Ashelawn Memorials Gardens Cemetery.

The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at Boone Family Funeral Home.
