With fall sports just around the corner, new Ashe County varsity cheerleading coach Kim Simmons has announced important dates to remember for the upcoming season.
Open gym is scheduled to take place on July 9, July 12, July 16 and July 19 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. each day at the West Jefferson gym at the former West Jefferson Elementary School.
There will be two different dates for cheerleading team tryouts. The first will be on July 21 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the West Jefferson gym, and again on July 31 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the same location for those that could not make it to the first tryout.
There will also be a three-day cheerleading camp held at the WJ gym July 26-28 with times still to be determined.
