Michael Lynn Hamrick

Michael Lynn Hamrick of Matthews passed away June 26, 2012, at CMC-Pineville Hospital. He was 65.

Michael was born June 20, 1947, in Mecklenburg County. He served his country proudly with three tours during Vietnam for the U.S. Army and earned several medals including a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. Michael retired from Mecklenburg County School Systems after 29 years.

Survivors include his mother, Irene M. Hamrick; two daughters, Dawn Presson and husband, Chris, and Crystal Hamrick; a step daughter, Mary Catherine Whitlock; and four grandchildren, Brittany, Berry, Jacob and Rachel.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28, at Heritage Funeral Home Indian Trail Chapel.

Interment was on Friday, June 29, at Salisbury National Cemetery.
