Regular season games for several of the fall sports teams at Ashe County High School start next week, including two teams in action on Monday.
The men’s soccer team will open the year at home against Watauga on Monday, while the women’s tennis team will start the season with back-to-back home games on Monday and Tuesday against Alleghany and Forbush. The ladies on the tennis team have a third match next week, scheduled for Thursday at East Wilkes
The volleyball team marks the start of its season on Tuesday with a non-conference road match against Avery County. The Lady Huskies also have a match at East Wilkes slated for Thursday.
On the gridiron, the football team gets things started with a scrimmage at Lincolnton High School facing the Lincolnton Wolves and the West Lincoln Rebels this Friday evening. The regular season under the lights begins Friday, Aug. 17 at West Caldwell.
