Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin announces the arrest of Holly Cecilia Miller, age 37, of 1490 Rock Fence Road, Creston.
Miller is charged with one count each of insurance fraud and making a false report to a police station.
Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse Miller of filing a false police report with the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office and filing a fraudulent insurance claim with North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Company for damage to her vehicle in August 2012. Investigators allege that Miller had already filed a police report with the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and filed a claim with another insurance company for the same vehicle damage in April 2011.
Miller was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 15, processed by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office and held on a $6,000 secured bond.
