Mrs. Verlis Helen Wyrick Trivette of Jefferson died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at her home. She was 77.

Mrs. Trivette was born on Jan. 10, 1935, in Ashe County to Benjamin and Annie Bare Wyrick.

Mrs. Trivette was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clarence, three sisters, Leona, Adrien and Dema.

Mrs. Trivette is survived by her husband, Samuel “Sam” Trivette; two daughters, Rissie Salas of Jefferson, Bonita Thompson of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Bobbie Black and husband Robert, Willow Greay Dishman, all of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Brad Cockerham, Dustin Massey and wife Jenny, Kenny Massey and wife Joy; two great-grandchildren, Rhylee Massey, Liam Massey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Steve Goss. Entombment followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer.

The family received friends at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
