Supporting Tarleton and Carter in election
by Nathan Ham
Dear editor and High Country voters,
I just wanted to write and remind you how important it is to get out and vote in this election. Early voting has already begun, but many people will still be voting after I write this letter.
I will be voting for Cullie Tarleton for NC House. Cullie was instrumental in helping keep Mt. Jefferson State Natural Area open to the public when the NCDENR budget had it on the chopping block. He worked tirelessly to keep the park open; even when he wasn’t in office and didn’t have to.
My husband is a ranger and our family lives in the park. So, not only did Cullie work to keep the park open to you and for all people, he also helped save my husband’s job and our home. I’ll never forget the day he called me from the governor’s office to give us the good news.
Cullie really does care about us and he really cares about you and your families too. I hope you will vote for him as well, because he will fight to reverse the deep cuts that have been made to education and to protect the natural beauty of our state which is currently being threatened by fracking. He will also make it a priority to bring lost jobs back to North Carolina.
Remember when Cullie was in office? We had updates from Raleigh every week in the local papers. You don’t see that anymore. When Cullie was in office, every single email anyone ever sent him was answered personally. When Cullie was in office, we had our every concern heard and addressed. We no longer do. If Cullie is elected, we will again have a full time representative in Raleigh with full time attention given to working for us.
I will also be voting for Roy Carter for NC Senate. I believe Roy and Cullie will make a great team for us in Raleigh. Both of them are passionate about our communities, our mountains, our state and our families. They are both knowledgeable and capable of taking care of us. But they can’t work for us if we don’t get them there, so please get out and vote.
If you ever have any questions, concerns or suggestions, I promise you, these guys will hear you, read your emails, and address your concerns. They will be full time, quality representatives for you in Raleigh. Thank you for reading my letter. I urge you to learn the truth and vote what’s best for the High Country.
