Mrs. Margaret Virginia Faw Young, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Margate Health & Rehab Center. She was 93.
Mrs. Young was born in Ashe County on Feb. 3, 1919, to the late Robert Avery and Jean Turner Faw.
Including her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Bassett Young; three sisters, Laura Mae Shatley, Mary Ann Roland, Georgia Goss; and five brothers, Jake Faw, Richard Faw, Frank Faw, Robert Faw and Clifford Faw.
Mrs. Young was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning and she enjoyed traveling. She and her husband owned the stockyard in West Jefferson and the stockyard in Jefferson. Family was the most important thing in her life.
Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Jimmie Young and wife Linda of Grassy Creek; two grandchildren, Tara Young Miller and husband Chris of West Jefferson and Todd Young and wife Megan of Grassy Creek; one great-granddaughter, Taylon Miller of West Jefferson; two sisters, Eva Kennedy and Bobbie Hines both of Hillsborough; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Peter Parish and Rev. Wayne Osborne. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
