I read with dismay that our newly re-elected Representative to Congress, Virginia Foxx, has yet again embarrassed our district. As reported in the newspaper that covers Capitol Hill ( The HILL )http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/271305-congresswoman-chews-out-staffer-for-riding-on-members-only-elevator, Rep. Foxx chewed out and demeaned a Congressional Staffer for using an elevator that Ms.Foxx felt was reserved for Members Only.
The incident brings to mind an incident earlier this year that also got national publicity: the famous statement that she has “No tolerance for graduates with large student loans.”
It seems to me that our Congressperson, who became a millionaire in her Congressional tenure with net worth now approaching eight digits, feels that the little people deserve no consideration. Maybe she believes that only “job creators” or important government officials like her, merit the consideration and deference that is their due.
