Guilford downs N.C. Wesleyan

Zeb Richardson’s first collegiate double-double helped carry the Guilford Quakers to an 80-64 win over N.C. Wesleyan last weekend.

Richardson scored 13 points off the bench and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.

Over his last four games, Richardson has averaged 15 points and almost nine rebounds per contest.

Guilford got a big scoring game from Josh Pittman, who led the way with 18, and Matt McCarthy who set a career high with 17 points. Overall, the Quakers had five players reach double figures.

The Quakers are 6-2 overall and are 2-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Guilford wraps up the 2012 calendar year with a pair of non-conference games. The Quakers will travel to Maryville, Tenn. on Friday, Dec. 28 then play Birmingham Southern the following day as part of a holiday tournament in Maryville.
