Zeb Richardson and the rest of the Guilford Quakers got back into the win column with a pair of victories last week.

On Wednesday, the Quakers easily handled Roanoke by a final of 76-48. Richardson scored six points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots in 17 minutes on the court. Josh Pittman led the way with 19 points, Matt McCarthy had 16 and Jake Hopkins added 11.

The Quaker defense was stellar all night long. Roanoke did not have a single player reach double figures. The team shot just 27-percent from the field and was a paltry 2-22 shooting from behind the three-point line (nine-percent).

Guilford kept the winning spirit on Saturday when they defeated Shenandoah, 66-55. Richardson racked up yet another double-double, his team-leading fifth of the season. The former Husky scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court.

The Quakers used their size advantage over the smaller Shenandoah team, out-rebounding them 46-25, which helped lead to 17 second-chance points. The Quakers also outscored the Hornets by a whopping 22-4 margin in the paint.

Pittman was Guilford’s highest scorer again, pouring in 28 points.

Jarid Carithers led Shenandoah with 17 points.

Guilford will return to the court on Wednesday against rival Randolph College. The Quakers have just four games remaining in the regular season. After Wednesday’s game, the Quakers will host conference-leading Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, Feb. 9, host Emory & Henry on Wednesday, Feb. 13 before wrapping up the regular season at Bridgewater on Saturday, Feb. 16.
