Mrs. Robbins was born March 16, 1948 in Ashe County. She graduated, with honors, from Appalachian State University, and served many years on the Seven Devils Town Council. Mrs. Robbins was owner and operator of Carolina Accounting.
Mrs. Robbins is survived by her son, Michael Craig Presnell of Valle Crucis; one step-daughter, Wendy L. Robbins of Blowing Rock; two step-sons, Chris Robbins and wife, Cathy, of Boone, and Mark Robbins and wife, Lindsey York Robbins, of Lenoir; four sisters, Carolyn Schurter and husband, Don, of West Jefferson, Wanda Rash and Patsy Philips, both of Creston, and Kathaline Johnson of West Jefferson; one brother, Jim Johnson and wife, Susan, of Lansing, and one brother-in-law, Jim Osbourne of Creston. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Robbins; her father; her mother, Helen Eller Johnson; one step-son, Kevin Edward Robbins; and two sisters, Joanne Osbourne and Linda Hartzog.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Johnson Robbins were conducted Wednesday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body lay in state, at the chapel, from 10-11 a.m. Officiating were the Reverend Jimmy Miller and the Reverend Richard Trivette. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery in Ashe County.
The family received friends Tuesday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at Hampton Funeral Service.
