Officials have confirmed that the human remains recovered at a Clifton dig site belong to Jimmy Blevins.

Ashe County Sheriff James Williams said Wednesday afternoon that at 3 p.m. the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill positively identified the remains of Blevins through dental records. Authorities have yet to release details concerning how Blevins died.

Authorities recovered the human remains Tuesday afternoon. Admitted triple murderer Frederick Hammer told authorities last week during an interview where the remains were located. Murder charges against Hammer will be forthcoming, the sheriff said.
